Abundant Wild Life
The Intermountain Area is world renowned for its numerous blue ribbon fishing streams and rivers. Fall River, Pit River and Hat Creek are all clear spring-fed waters with consistent cold water temperatures. These conditions help provide some of the best fishing in the west. The Forest Service offers six campgrounds that are located adjacent to Hat Creek. Besides the plentiful fishing and hunting, "birdwatchers" can view a variety of birds and waterfowl. Many varieties of upland game birds use the area as a nesting and resting spot on migrating flights. |
